GIVEAWAY: Fifty Shames of Earl Grey by Fanny Merkin (aka Andrew Shaffer)
Welcome to another special presentation at Book Brats! I know I promised a review of SERAPHINA today, but as it turns out SERAPHINA is long and when you are sick and busy with work, it gets difficult to read quickly. But never fear, today I have something equally as awesome, and you guys are in for a special treat.
Parody: an imitative work created to mock, comment on or trivialise an original work, its subject, author, style, or some other target, by means of humorous, satiric or ironic imitation.
And the newest entry onto the parody street is FIFTY SHAMES OF EARL GREY, the uproariously funny parody of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. And who doesn’t love a parody? Okay, if you dislike parodies, there is the door, don’t let the laughs hit you on the way out.
But yes, why is this important, you ask?
Because it is time for a huge giveaway!

Thanks to our friends at Da Capo Press, Book Brats is hosting a giveaway for THREE copies of Andrew Shaffer’s hilarious take on FIFTY SHADES OF GREY. It’s open only to our American friends, but international visitors, stay tuned for more giveaways! Or, you can go enter our giveaway for WANT on the sidebar!
Enter below and be sure to add this one on Goodreads – you won’t be disappointed!
Young, arrogant, tycoon Earl Grey seduces the naïve coed Anna Steal with his overpowering good looks and staggering amounts of money, but will she be able to get past his fifty shames, including shopping at Walmart on Saturdays, bondage with handcuffs, and his love of BDSM (Bards, Dragons, Sorcery, and Magick)? Or will his dark secrets and constant smirking drive her over the edge?

YES! *crosses fingers*
Favorite parody of all time has got to be Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I never get sick of it and can quote entire scenes almost verbatim.
My favorite parody: The Cabin in the Woods ^_^
I LOVED Spaceballs!! I still roll when I see it.
Mel
I’ve recently enjoyed The Havard Lampoon’s parody on The Hunger Games: The Hunger Pains.
Lilian @ A Novel Toybox
I would love to have it!
Spaceballs movie
Oh, maybe Spaceballs or Scream.
My favorite parody is probably Airplane.
“Can you fly this plane, and land it?”
“Surely you can’t be serious.”
“I am serious… and don’t call me Shirley!”
Young Frankenstein
If we’re talking books specifically, I’ve only read The Hunger Pains which I found hilarious.
More in general, I love the ‘Scary Movies’ they are hilarious!!
Favorite parody of all time? Um…good question…I would say it was the Samurai Cat series by Mark E. Rogers. I laughed till I cried reading them. So funny.
Would the stellar work of the Reduced Shakespeare Company qualify? How about the Capitol Steps?
I love Space Balls and Young Frankenstein
